The media loves to hype any attempt by a female to outdo the men (just remember the hype surrounding Danica Patrick). But this is a pretty big deal. Michelle Wie, the 6’1 phenom who is only 16 is in solid contention to qualify for the U.S. Open, one of golf’s four “majors.” I’ll be rooting for her tomorrow.
