Robert Lucas, Sam Peltzman, Gary Becker, and Eugene Fama discuss Milton Friedman’s legacy. I found Gary Becker’s statements particularly interesting. He discusses Friedman’s contributions from the perspective of an economist and close friend of Friedman’s. Both enlightening and touching. Also, he gives a version of the famous–at least around here–anecdote about Friedman’s initial resistance to Ronald Coase’s presentation of the Coase theorem.
