I think I’ve blogged about this in the past, but I want to set the record straight on something I very infrequently get teased about, my last name.Some claim my last name is just a first name. Well go to this website which is a flash where you can chart the popularity of names in the last ~100 years. Type in Brandon, as a first name, it didn’t exist until the 1970s. Why did it become a first name? I’m not sure. All I know is that Brandon is an area or place in Ireland, which is why my last name is Brandon. Luckily for me, and any children I may have, the popularity of Brandon as a first name seems to be tailing off.
