One shortcoming of the UChicago campus is its lack of a hotel for visitors. As a result, parents, friends, and prospective students end up staying downtown. I’m sure countless prospective students have been turned off when they mistakenly took the Green Line to campus. Well the Hyde Park Herald is reporting (link not stable) that the U of C has purchased the Doctors Hospital (on Stony Island and 57th) and is considering making it into a UChicago affiliated hotel. The building is nice and the location is great. Good move to see.
