The Sip Lab, a new shop serving handcrafted beverages and teas, opened in Hutchinson Commons on Monday.
The Sip Lab is a partnership between UChicago Dining and Sip Studio, a handcrafted beverages brand. At UChicago, it is operated by Chartwells Higher Education, the University’s dining vendor, which also operates other stations in Hutchinson Commons. Its menu primarily features boba teas with tapioca pearls, mango popping boba, or strawberry popping boba. Students can also order frosted fruit drinks, juice refreshers, and tea fusions.
The Sip Lab is open during Hutchinson Commons’ regular operating hours. Drinks can be picked up from the same stand as Dollar Shake Day milkshakes.
According to a worker at the Sip Lab, employees found out about the new beverage station during spring break and were trained before Hutchinson Commons opened on Monday.
