Not even Mearsheimer can rationalize this one away

Apparently fresh off of threatenin

Apparently fresh off of threatening to share its nuclear technology with perennial American enemy Sudan and to “punish” Israel for any American “evil,” Iran is now trying to patch things up. President Ahmadinejad has written a letter to President Bush with, “suggestions on how to resolve current international tensions.” Outside of that, the contents of the letter are unknown. Also interesting is that this is widely considered to be the first direct public communication sent by an Iranian president to an American president since the 1979 revolution. Is this reason to think that a peaceful resolution is possible?Probably not, this is most likely a stalling technique given the impending UN Security Council vote on Iran’s nuclear activity (similar letters were also sent to other leaders of certain nations), but you never know.
