Crime Report: April 6, 2007

March 29, 2:43 p.m.—A 29-year-old man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery on the 5400 block of South Kimbark Avenue. The man was walking through Nichols Park when three men sitting on a nearby bench attacked and tackled him to the ground. The offenders demanded that the victim empty his pockets, but the victim refused and called for help.

March 30, 9:15 a.m.—A 64-year-old man waiting at a bus stop on the 1500 block of East 55th Street was the victim of an aggravated armed robbery. A man approached the victim from behind, put an unknown object to his right side, and told the victim not to turn around. The victim surrendered $550 and his bag of groceries. The offender ran

westbound, entered a red car, and fled the scene. The offender was described as a black man with a beard, wearing a baseball cap and red jacket.
