It is a very simple and benign gesture to send someone a book with the hope that they read it and in doing this Martel is drumming up attention for her cause and also drumming up attention for great literature.That’s a win-win if I’ve ever heard of one.Of course, there is no reason for Martel to do this with George Bush. He read like a 100 books just last month. They felt like sand.
