I am so sick of hearing about poor Ruth Ginsburg being “alone”on the Supreme Court.Would liberals be happy if Bush had appointed Janice Rogers Brown–or, for that matter, Harriet Miers–instead of Samuel Alito? Moreover, I think it’s insulting to imply that men and women should have different view on Constitutional law because of their genders. (Meanwhile, polls consistently show here and here that women oppose abortion rights–which is constantly cited as a “women’s issue” that Ginsburg has some unique insight on–at the same or slightly higher rates than men do.)It’s lucky that the Clarence Thomas is a conservative–otherwise we’d constantly be hearing about his being “lonely” as the only black member of the Court.
The Supreme Court could use some more estrogen!!
