Senator Tim Johnson (Dem-SD) has reportedly suffered a stroke. The man is only 59 and it is obviously a tragedy.But, it also has political implications. If Johnson doesn’t recover and is found to be unfit to serve, South Dakota’s Republican Governor would likely appoint a Republican, causing the Democrats to lose control of the Senate.
