January 21, 7:25 p.m.—An unknown male entered the Quick Snacks located at 1658 East 55th Street and brought a box of garbage bags to the counter. The offender then displayed a handgun and demanded money from the male cashier. The victim surrendered cash from the register, and the offender fled the store on foot. The suspect was described as black, approximately 30 years old, 5 foot 11, 180 pounds, medium build, and of dark complexion, and was reportedly wearing a gray jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white gym shoes.
January 21, 11:50 a.m.—At the corner of South University Avenue and East 56th Street, a 28-year-old female victim walking from her car was approached by two men in a vehicle. The two asked for directions, and as the victim was talking with the driver, he reached out and grabbed the strap of her purse, pulling it into the car. He then drove off with the victim’s property. The driver was described as black, 17–21 years old, thin build, and of dark complexion with a moustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The passenger was described as a black male wearing all black clothing. The offender’s vehicle was described as a black, four-door 1990–1993 Nissan Maxima, with a broken rear taillight on the passenger side.
