Weather spoils plans for final homestand: Sport Shorts 5/2/06
May 2, 2006
Softball planned to wrap up its season this weekend, but the weather intervened to push the final showdowns into May.
The Maroons (18-10) travel today to face off against UWWhitewater (2313) at 3 p.m. to make up for Sundays rainout. The squads matchup against the Warhawks was originally scheduled to be Chicagos season finale at Stagg.
Instead, the team will hit the road to end their year, taking on 24th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan (289) at Bloomington on Wednesday. The 3 p.m. bout with the Titans will make up for the called games Saturday.
Both of Chicagos last contests are doubleheaders.
