The beauty of a pedestrian space

Many of us in the community appreciate the new changes in the quad.

By Letter to the Editor

It is a beautiful, crisp fall morning in the Quadrangle. The sun is streaming into the peaceful, inner gardens and the birds are singing. Students are quickly walking to classes, holding hands. Squirrels and occasional bunny rabbits are running across the walkways…

Suddenly, my reverie is interrupted by the beep of a vehicle…wait! It’s just a groundskeeper picking up leaves, not a real car. And soon enough, it is gone. The quadrangle is once again a safe place, where nature can reassert herself, and contemplation is possible.

Many of us in the community appreciate these new changes.
