Mayoral candidate Brandon Johnson and Fourth Ward aldermanic candidate Lamont Robinson won their respective elections on April 4. Desmon Yancy won the Fifth Ward after rival candidate Tina Hone conceded on April 10.
Recent polling in a race heavily focused on public safety suggests none of the nine candidates will receive a simple majority, making it likely the top two will compete in an April runoff.
Seven of the nine mayoral candidates, including local representative and Fourth Ward alderman Sophia King, attended the event. Incumbent Lori Lightfoot was absent.
